To provide a theoretical basis of air-source heat pump application for the local conditions, studies frosting mechanism on cold surfaces, takes into consideration the relationship between frosting of air-source heat pump and climate parameters at the same time, and gets the frosting criterion of air-source heat pump based on air dry-bulb temperature and dew-point temperature. By means of the criterion, researches the climate suitability of air-source heat pump in 9 cities in the area. The results show that the climate suitability of air-source heat pump is divided into absolute climate suitability and relative climate suitability, with the former being used to compare different cities and the latter taken as the theoretical basis of application in a specific city. Compares and analyses the similarities and differences of the authors’ findings and other related references.
